6-14-19 Outage

June 17, 2019 – Homer Electric Association, Inc. (HEA) crews responded to a power outage affecting more than 900 members on Friday night, June 14, 2019 when a power pole in the Tote Road area of Soldotna was knocked down by a hit and run vehicle.

In addition, the incident resulted in a small ground fire causing HEA to remove the power to the circuit supporting this power pole. By 9:14 PM the pole had been isolated and power was restored to all but 11 members. At 1:15 AM, June 15, all remaining members’ power had been restored.

Thank you for your patience during this time. Remember to stay away from downed power lines, which may still be energized, and call HEA at 888-868-8243 or 911 to report it immediately.
