2023 HUG Program: Spreading Holiday Cheer to Over 80 Families

At HEA, we understand that the holiday season can be a challenging time for many families, especially when utility costs add to the financial burden. That’s why we initiated the Home Utility Gift (HUG) program, an initiative aimed at providing a little extra help to those in need during the holiday season.

In 2023, our commitment to community was brighter than ever. We were thrilled to receive over 80 heartfelt applications from families seeking assistance. It’s a testament to the strength of our community and the genuine need for this program.

Ten (10) fortunate families from various communities, including Anchor Point, Homer, Kenai, Nanwalek, Nikiski, Soldotna, and Sterling, were selected as recipients of the HUG program during the month of December. Each family received a $100 Home Utility Gift, which was credited to their HEA account.

Our HUG program embodies the spirit of giving during the holiday season, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our members.
