Construction
and Maintenance |
HEAs Engineering division can
facilitate the construction of your new electric service. Before beginning construction,
please download the
Electric Service Requirements
(4/11/08) that are particular
for your type of construction to learn the requirements for obtaining service.
Some basic guidelines for prompt line
installation include:
1.) Applicant must be the property owner or
have written authorization for installation of electric service. A complete legal
description of property must be provided.
2.) Property corners must be visible and set by a licensed land surveyor.
3.) Site plan or sketch of building layout indicating meter location is requested.
4.) Load data - commercial applications require complete load data.
5.) Right-of-way easements and permits, if required, may delay construction.
6.) Meter loop location must be marked by a stake and flag with your name on it in advance
of scheduled construction. House meters should be located on the side of the house closest
to the power source.
7.) Member-supplied meter loop must be mounted and ready to be energized before a
construction crew arrives at worksite.
8.) The worksite must be accessible to HEA equipment and must be clear of obstructions
including trees, brush, building materials, etc.
9.) Temporary building power may be available at your site. Contact HEA for availability
and temporary specifications.
10.) Multiple meters must be permanently labeled to identify each apartment they will
serve.
11.) Please notify an Engineering Service Representative if your road condition is poor
and you do not want heavy equipment on your property.
12.) Meter loops may be purchased through HEA using our easy Line of Credit Program. Ask
an Engineering Service Representative for more details.
