If
you experience an interruption of electric service, follow these
simple steps:
Check your
fuses or circuit breakers to be sure that there is not a
problem in your home's electrical system.
Check with
your neighbors to see if they have electricity.
Report
outage to your nearest Homer Electric office as follows:
Call 1-888-8OUTAGE
An easy,
step-by-step outage reporting system will prompt you to
input the telephone number of the outage location.
The automated system matches the telephone number
to our database, so it is important to have your current
telephone number on file with HEA.
You will
be asked if your power is out and if you do or do not
know the cause of the outage (such as a tree on the
line). Press the appropriate number on your
dialing pad.
If you do
not have a touch-tone phone, stay on the line and you
will be prompted to leave a detailed voice message with
your name, phone number, and outage location.
You may
leave a detailed voice message with pertinent outage
information (i.e. explosion heard, tree on line, length
of time without electricity, etc.) that may be helpful.
Remember it
is important, and your responsibility, to protect your
sensitive electronic equipment.
