The Soldotna Combustion Turbine provides a backup source of power with a 48 megawatt LM6000 turbine.
- Maximum output of 42 to 48 megawatts dependent on ambient air temperature.
- The turbine’s aeroderivative design enables it to reach full output in a short time. It can reach a maximum output of 42 to 48 megawatts in less than 15 minutes.
- The Dry Low Emissions (DLE) combustion system eliminates the need for water injection. This allows HEA to utilize the best pollution control technology to keep emissions low.
- HEA’s 93 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is located at the Soldotna Generation and Substation Facility.
