Scheduled Outages

Planned Outage | May 24, 2022 Homer Spit, Halibut Cove, and Peterson Bay area

The Homer Spit has endured a number of outages commencing in the fall of 2021. HEA determined that the express feeder that runs under the boardwalk has deteriorated and must be replaced. HEA ordered the new express feeder cable and with the arrival of spring, HEA commenced the preconstruction work for the cable replacement. Furthermore, the cable has arrived and is ready to be installed which requires up to a six-hour outage.

Our members and the success of your businesses are important to HEA. We surveyed numerous spit businesses to schedule this outage with the least disruption to your respective businesses. We recognize that an outage is never convenient, but we hope that commencing the outage at 10:00 PM and working overnight will avoid impacting dinner service and breakfast service the following morning.

This planned outage on the Homer Spit, Halibut Cove, and Peterson Bay areas is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2022, beginning at 10:00 PM and could last up to 6 hours.
