Main Goal
Having grown up in Sterling and built a career in software development, I've been a dedicated community member for over 30 years, and I'm honored to be considered to represent Kenai and Nikiski. I can offer a well-rounded perspective and valuable insight into HEA's decisions, drawing on my experience in the electrical field, oil and gas industry, and data analytics. I served our community for seven years, developing software essential to running our school district. I want to bring my expertise in administering complex systems to the service of HEA members.
My primary goals as an HEA director would include diversifying HEA's energy sources, decreasing and stabilizing costs for our members, and providing total transparency and consistent communication to our ratepayers.
HEA is facing unprecedented challenges that require a fresh perspective and attainable solutions. I will advocate for ownership of our energy sources and diversification that will give the power back to HEA and its members. A reliable, diverse grid will bring low, stable pricing back to an electric bill that is currently unstable and unpredictable. I would encourage us to work with local providers and other railbelt utilities to proactively identify additional sources of energy production. Other energy sources can offer significant price stability and substantial economic opportunities for the local community.
