PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
July 2, 2009 - Starting the week of July 6, Homer Electric Association will begin receiving approximately seven oversized trailer loads of modular structures as part of the construction of its new Diamond Ridge Substation in Homer. Carlile Transportation will be providing the trucking and logistics for this effort which will involve cautionary measures on the Sterling Highway and temporary blockages of Diamond Ridge Road and Skyline Drive in order to move the wide loads through safely. Please be on the alert for pilot cars and personnel directing traffic and as always, use caution when these loads are present on the highway and sideroads. It is expected that the equipment will move from Anchorage to a staging area at the top of the Baycrest Hill in Homer from Monday, July 6th through Tuesday, July 7th, and then be transferred to the project site on Skyline Drive via Diamond Ridge Road between Thursday, July 9th and Sunday, July 12th. HEA appreciates your patience during this necessary disruption and will provide updates as the work progresses.
